ABOUT CRUPIERY

To see
the numbers clearly.

Everyday life includes many tasks that often go unseen: organizing shopping, looking after a fund, coordinating a team and following up on an agreement. At home, among friends or in a community, a good tool can make them easier.

Crupiery is a project by Candelario Benítez to put practical tools within reach of those doing this work. It does not aim to replace people or turn every volunteer into a specialist. It seeks to give them help they can understand and use.

The purpose: to keep what’s useful close by.

The idea is simple: anyone should be able to find a good worksheet without buying a subscription, handing over their data or learning a complicated system. Anyone who prefers keeping accounts here should be able to do so clearly and save a backup to protect them.

There are two ways to use Crupiery: a library of files for households, friends, teams, communities and churches that you can download and adapt; and workspaces to keep household or church accounts. Choose what works for you.

The green eyeshade.

The name comes from the accountant's green eyeshade: the one bookkeepers used decades ago to shield themselves from the harsh light of bulbs while balancing the accounts. It wasn't an ornament. It was to be able to see the numbers clearly.

That is exactly what I want this tool to do.

For the person who accepts the assignment.

In a small church, the person who keeps the books is almost never an accountant. It’s a willing brother who accepts the task because someone has to do it. And what exists to help them either costs money the church doesn’t have, or requires uploading donor information to an external server.

Crupiery was created to help that person: not to require them to learn a complicated system, but to give them clarity.

Free does not mean less care.

The templates and tools are open to churches, families and individuals who need them. Downloading does not require an account or donation. Support for the project is voluntary and separate from access to the resources.

Documents can be completed in Excel or printed. They are also available in Spanish and English, so language is not another barrier.

Your data is not the entry price.

That is why Crupiery is free and does not store your financial records on any server. Everything stays in your browser, on your computer. We do not have access to your accounts, not even I as the creator.

If you delete site data or switch devices without a backup, you can lose records. That is why the tool insists that you download a copy. Clearing only the file cache does not necessarily equal deleting accounts, but clearing site data does.

I prefer that hassle to asking you to entrust your congregation’s tithes to a database you don’t control. And if you share a computer, protect its access: other people using the same browser could open the records.
